Komodo Trip Guide
The Komodo Trip Guide is useful information and details you should be aware of before making a reservation. To ensure smooth communication and service, please take the time to read it carefully.
Not many companies share this, but we feel it’s important to be honest so that you have a better understanding of what a tour in Labuan Bajo is really like.
Who We Are: Your Komodo Tour Experts
We are a trusted, local tour operator helping travelers explore the most beautiful islands in Indonesia, including Lombok, Bali, and Flores!
Our main goal is to make sure you have the absolute best holiday ever. Our team has years of experience planning these adventures—we are definitely not newcomers to the travel industry!
How We Organize Our Komodo Trips
To give you the best experience in Komodo National Park, we partner up with local boat owners:
- Private Trips: If you want a private tour just for your group, we charter (rent out) an entire boat exclusively for you.
- Shared Trips: If you are traveling solo or with a small group and choose a shared trip, we will arrange for you to join an awesome boat with other travelers.
Our Responsibilities: What We Do For You
When you book a tour with us, your holiday is in safe hands. Here is exactly what we are responsible for to make sure you have an amazing trip:
- Delivering Your Dream Tour: We guarantee to provide everything that is promised in your tour package itinerary. This includes your private or shared transport vehicles, your local tour guides, and all the activities listed in the program.
- Fixing Problems Fast: If something unexpected goes wrong during your trip—like a breakdown with a vehicle or a boat—we will immediately step in. We will arrange a replacement as quickly as possible so your adventure can keep moving forward with minimal disruption!
Unexpected Boat Changes & Upgrades
Even though all partner boats undergo regular safety checks and strict maintenance, mechanical issues can still happen unexpectedly out at sea. Because passenger safety is our highest priority, boat changes can occur at any time.
- Instant Notifications: The moment the boat management team alerts us to a technical issue, we will contact you immediately to let you know about the change.
- Safety First: If a vessel needs a quick repair, we will swap it for a safe, reliable alternative so your island adventure can continue without missing a beat!
Unpredictable Weather & Route Changes
The weather at sea can change quickly! If the weather gets rough—but the harbor master still says it is safe to sail—the captain will change the route to keep everyone safe.
- The Safety Route: If dangerous waves or strong currents hit the outer sea areas, we will skip Padar Island, Komodo Island, Pink Beach, and Manta Point. Instead, we will head to the safer, calmer waters around Rinca Island (where you can still see the famous Komodo dragons!).
- The Speedboat Option: Alternatively, we can switch the schedule to a one-day speedboat tour to Rinca Island so you can see the main highlights quickly and safely.
Reality Check: What the Boats Are Really Like
Before you step on board, we want to give you an honest look at what to expect so there are no surprises!
- Handcrafted from Wood: Every single tour boat in Labuan Bajo is built from traditional timber.
- Cozy, Minimalist Cabins: On a boat, space is tight! The bedrooms (cabins) are very small and basic. Even if they look large in wide-angle photos online, they are built for sleeping, not for hanging out.
- The Deck Matters: The most comfortable bedrooms are on the upper deck or main deck. Cabins on the lower deck (near the bottom of the boat) naturally tend to have a noticeable smell of engine oil. This is completely normal for wooden boats in Labuan Bajo!
- Simple Social Spaces: The dining rooms and sun decks are great places to relax, but they are simple, basic, and built for outdoor adventure—not luxury cruise living.
Step-by-Step Guide: How to Book Your Komodo Tour
Ready to join a group and see the dragons? Follow these 6 easy steps to lock in your spot on the boat!
- Step 1: Check the Rules
Take a quick look through our Booking and Cancellation Policy. You and your family know how everything works before you start. - Step 2: See What’s Open
Send a message to our team via WhatsApp or Email. Tell us your preferred travel dates and exactly how many people are coming with you. - Step 3: Send Your Passport Photo
Send us a clear copy or picture of your passport. We need this to register your booking and get your official entry permits for Komodo National Park. - Step 4: Secure Your Spot with a Deposit
Pay your booking deposit to lock in your seats. Remember, your spots on the boat are only guaranteed once we receive this payment! - Step 5: Share Your Arrival Details
Tell us the name of your hotel in Labuan Bajo and your flight details. This helps us coordinate your morning pickup so you don’t get left behind. - Step 6: Pay the Rest in Cash
Bring cash! The remaining balance for your tour must be paid in cash (Indonesian Rupiah) when you arrive at our office before the trip.
